What is Butter cream?

Butter cream is a type of icing or filling used inside cakes, as a coating and as decoration.
It is made by creaming fat such as margarine or butter with icing sugar.
Cakes covered with butter cream usually taste better than cakes covered with fondant.
But the limitation of butter cream cakes is that it tends to get spoilt easily and has a limit to designs unlike fondant cakes.
 Butter cream cakes are not usually used for layered /wedding ceremony  because of the possibility of it collapsing is high.Fondant cakes are usually made in such ceremony.

How to make butter cream

 Recipe

* Margarine 250g

* Icing sugar 500g

 *Vanilla flavour 1 teaspoon

 METHOD

 1. Sieve Icing sugar.

2. Beat margarine for 10 to 20 minutes.

 3. Add icing sugar gradually on low speed.

4. Increase the speed of the mixer to high and cream for 10 minutes or till fluffy, add flavour.

 5.After mixing, add your desired colour, use it on your cake.
 You can also store in a plastic air tight bowl.

Note: Don't store for too long.
