Whipped cream is a heavy cream that is whipped by a whisk or mixer until it's light and fluffy.
It is often sweetened ( usually with confectioner's sugar, which dissolves easily in the cream and doesn't leave a grainy texture) and sometimes flavoured with vanilla.
It is added as a topping or spread on ice cream, cup cakes, cakes, fruit salads, mousse, etc.
Whipped cream can be gotten from shop rite or some other big super market. Whipped cream have such a lovely and good taste that people will love to have on their cakes instead of butter cream or fondant, but it's very expensive.
So what can you do when your customer wants a whipped cream cake but can't afford it?
Remember you can't afford to lose them to someone else.
Here is the solution.
When you have a customer who insists on having whipped cream but can't afford it, tell them you can give them something close to it.
Make white butter cream for them.
HOW TO MAKE WHITE BUTTER CREAM
Recipe
1. 500g of icing sugar
2. 500g of Vegetable shortening
3. 50g of powdered milk ( you can add more if you want to)
4. 1/4 cup of water
5. 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavour
6 . 1 teaspoon salt
METHOD OF PREPARATION
1. Cream the vegetable shortening very well.
2. Add icing sugar and mix it together using your mixer.
3. Add the powdered milk, flavour and beat it very well.
Then your white butter cream is ready to be used.
Important information :
1. The use of more milk is optional.
2. Add water gradually till you get the consistency you want for what looks like whipped, but it should not be watery.
3. The addition of Salt helps to bring down the taste of sugar. So if you are through and you feel it's too sugary, you can add a little salt and mix very well.
That's how to satisfy your customer who wants whipped cream but can't afford it.
