Amazing wonders of orange peel

 AMAZING USES OF ORANGE PEELS

Oranges can reduce your risk of developing certain cancers, prevent kidney disease, lower bad cholesterol, boost heart health, and they can also take good care of your eyesight. They’re awesome.

Here are  amazing uses of orange peel

ORANGE PEEL CAN PRESERVE BROWN SUGAR

Brown sugar is great for adding a bit of taste to your beverages. I add half a teaspoon to my cup of tea now and then.

But the problem with brown sugar is that, because it often comes in such a big packet, it can soon solidify before you’ve finished the packet. Not cool.

To stop this from happening, add your trusty orange peels to the packet.

ORANGE PEEL BANISHES MOTHS AND MOSQUITOES

Especially if you live in a warm climate, mosquitoes and moths are probably a daily problem. From the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep, you have to fend off random attacks from flying insects so that you don’t get bitten.

And sometimes the attacks don’t stop once you get into bed. Mosquitoes – who apparently never ever sleep! – keep on coming even as you’re snoozing.

Fortunately, orange peel can help. All you need to do Is place a peel next to any window where mosquitos and moths are known to enter and wait for it to repel them with its odour.

ORANGE PEELS CAN START FIRES

No, I’m not suggesting that you turn into an arsonist who burns down buildings with an orange peel. But if you’re ever on a camping trip and you guys have no wood with which to start a fire, you can save the day.

“Fear not, guys. Because I’ve brought along my trusty orange peel!”

And then you can whip out your orange peel and look really awesome as you use it get a fire going.

ORANGE PEEL COMBATS SHOE ODOUR

Smelly feet are horrible, right? For the purposes of this article, let’s pretend that it isn’t you who has a shoe odour problem. Let’s pretend that it’s your partner.

So alarmed – and disgusted – are you by your partner’s awful shoe odour that you’re now prepared to line his shoes with orange peel. It’s a bit of a last resort, but hey – you’ll try anything to get rid of that nauseating smell.

And orange peel really is effective. All you need to do is sprinkle some baking soda on the peel before slipping it inside the offending shoes overnight. The peel will absorb the odours so that you don’t have to worry about the odour anymore

ANT REPELLANT

Got a problem with ants in your home or planning a picnic and want to make sure it’s an ant-free experience? Place orange peels (or ground-up peels) around problem areas with ants and watch them march off in the opposite direction.

STRAY CAT REPELLANT

Orange peels on the outside of your home will also keep stray cats away ... or use it to stop your own cat getting into things they shouldn't, such as house plants.

ORANGE PEEL CAN ACTUALLY BE EATEN

You might have already heard a few Chinese whispers that orange peel can be consumed. But you’ve never believed them Until now.

Yup, orange peel is edible and digestible. It has a zingy taste to it, but if you find the idea abhorrent, why not do what Europeans do and dip it in chocolate? It’s a gorgeous treat!

ORANGE PEEL IS A FABULOUS HOUSE CLEANER

Did you know that everyday household cleaners are actually riddled with nasty toxins? In fact, they are among the worst offenders when it comes to our exposure to toxins that can cause allergies to erupt.

Among the potentially harmful ingredients in household cleaners are triclosan, phthalates, and quaternary ammonium.

You may not have heard of any of these, but none of them are what you could call good for you.

Instead, why not clean with orange peel, an entirely natural product that is free from harmful substances?

To make a brilliant natural cleaner, simply toss some orange peels in a lidded jar and cover with white vinegar. Let it sit in the fridge for a few weeks, shaking it occasionally. Transfer to a spray bottle, shake, and use to clean surfaces, floors and windows etc

it  gives your home a shine. It works a treat!

ORANGE PEEL CAN REMOVE WATER STAIN

Water stains are SO annoying. When they appear on your furniture, you might be inclined to think ‘oh they will go soon. After all, it’s just water, right?’

But no. They will not just go away. Unless you tackle them, they will stay for ever.

Using orange peel to scrub water stains away is easy and effective. All you need to do is dab a bit of peel on the stain. It’s gone!

ORANGE PEEL MAKES YOUR GARBAGE SMELL SWEET

Okay, garbage disposals smell horrid. Of course they do. But by adding vinegar to your orange peels before dumping them in your refuse bin, you can actually make the whole bin smell a lot sweeter.

Stay happy and healthy!
